Blackpink's Jennie Kim Joins the Cast of The Weeknd's HBO Series 'The Idol'

Jennie Kim is taking on a new role.

According to Deadline, the Blackpink star has joined the cast of The Weeknd‘s upcoming HBO drama The Idol.

Co-created by Euphoria creator Sam Levinson, the series stars Lily-Rose Depp as a female pop singer who begins a romance with an L.A. club owner, who is actually the leader of a secret cult.

Jennie was spotted in the new trailer for the show, which was released last week. In the clip, she can briefly be seen the the dance rehearsal scenes.

HBO has not provided any additional details about her role, but did confirm the casting in a tweet, writing: “Jennie Kim has been cast in #THEIDOL.”
