David Warner, 'Titanic' and 'The Omen' Actor, Passes Away at 80

David Warner, the Emmy award-winning actor who starred in Titanic and The Omen has passed away at the age of 80 of a cancer-related illness.

David is perhaps most well known for his role in James Cameron’s 1997 romantic epic Titanic, in which he portrayed Spicer Lovejoy, the sidekick to Billy Zane’s villainous character.

In The Omen, which was one of Warner’s most famous roles, he played photographer Keith Jennings.

His most recent film role was in the 2018 sequel Mary Poppins Returns, alongside Emily Blunt and Lin-Manuel Miranda.

“Over the past 18 months he approached his diagnosis with a characteristic grace and dignity,” his family said in a statement given to the BBC.

“He will be missed hugely by us, his family and friends, and remembered as a kind-hearted, generous and compassionate man, partner and father, whose legacy of extraordinary work has touched the lives of so many over the years. We are heartbroken,” it continued.
