'Handmaid's Tale' Star Ann Dowd Joins 'The Exorcist' Movie
Ann Dowd is the latest star to join the upcoming The Exorcist movie.
The 66-year-old Handmaid’s Tale actress will join Ellen Burstyn and Leslie Odom, Jr., in the flick, according to Deadline.
While there are no details about her role in the latest installment in the franchise, the new flick will be directed by David Gordon Green.
The original movie centered on Chris (Burstyn) hiring two Catholic priests to perform an exorcism on her daughter Regan.
The Exorcist has grossed over $441 million to date worldwide, making it the highest domestic-grossing horror film ever.
It was also nominated for 10 Oscars, and became the first horror film ever nominated for Best Picture.
Linda Blair, who played Reagan in the original movie, revealed if she would also be joining the picture.
