James Gunn Confirms New Details About Disney+'s 'Guardians of the Galaxy' Holiday Special
James Gunn is giving fans some insight into the The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special.
On Tuesday (August 2), the director took to social media to clarify where the upcoming special fits into Marvel’s current release schedule.
The MCU’s Phase 4 is slated to end with Black Panther: Wakanda Forever in November of this year, with Phase 5 set to begin with Ant-Man 3 in February. But according to TV Line, The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special is due out in December 2022.

James tweeted, “The Guardians Holiday Special is the epilogue of Phase 4. π π”
The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special will take place after the events of Thor: Love and Thunder, but before the plot of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. James agreed with a fan who labelled the special a “must watch,” writing: “Absolutely; there’s a lot of big information in there.”
Chris Pratt, Zoe SaldaΓ±a, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Karen Gillan and Pom Klementieff are all set to reprise their respective film roles.
