Kevin Smith Reveals HBO Max Cancelled Another Show

Kevin Smith confirmed that HBO Max’s DC Comics series, Strange Adventures, has officially been canceled after years of development.

Years ago, HBO Max announced they were developing a DC anthology series called Strange Adventures, also executive produced by Arrowverse‘s Greg Berlanti, which would “explore close-ended morality tales about the intersecting lives of mortals and superhumans” via Deadline.

During the podcast, Kevin said he and Supergirl writer Eric Carrasco were working on an episode together that would have focused on Jimmy Olsen and Perry White being taken by Bizarro to Bizarro World. Kevin was set to direct.

“It feels like what was once, to me, a promising future of we are going to see a bunch of DC stuff on HBO Max…including s–t like Strange Adventures…gone! All of it is just f—king gone now,” he said.

“I got a call the other day from Eric before all of this story broke and he was just like ‘Strange Adventures is officially dead,’ and I was like ‘What the f–k, are you serious?!’ I know we haven’t heard from them for a while, but I guess this goes in part and parcel with the new moves they’re doing with [David] Zaslav.”

Fans are now worried that all of these TV shows might be in danger amid the HBO Max restructuring…
