There's a Status Update About 'Black Canary' Spinoff Movie at HBO Max

Black Canary is still happening.

Following the news of Batgirl‘s abrupt cancellation at HBO Max, there is now an update about the Birds of Prey character’s standalone movie, which was announced a year ago at the streamer.

A spokesperson for Warner Bros. Pictures opened up about the status of the spinoff.

According to TVLine, the Black Canary standalone movie remains in development at HBO Max.

The movie follows the character of Dinah Lance from 2019 feature Harley Quinn: Birds of Prey. Misha Green is penning the script.

The Warner Bros. Discovery CEO recently defended cancelling Batgirl.

At the same time, many fans are concerned about the fate of several of their favorite shows on HBO Max.
