The Isley Brothers – featuring brothers Ronald and Ernie Isley – first released the hit song back in 1975.
In a new interview, Ronald shared that Beyonce‘s mom – Tina Knowles-Lawson – became emotional when she first heard their duet.
“Beyoncé’s mother texted us to say how much they were crying over the record when Beyoncé played it for them. Me, [wife] Kandy and her sister were together when we first heard it and they were crying,” Ronald told Billboard with a laugh. “Then Ernie and his wife came over and there was crying again. We hadn’t done any crying over a record in years.”
