Hope Solo Reveals the Biggest Mistake of Her Life

Hope Solo revealed the biggest mistake of her life, as well as her struggle with postpartum depression in the latest episode of her podcast.

The 41-year-old soccer star was arrested at a Walmart when an officer reported seeing Hope passed out in the car, with the engine running and her two young children in the car. She pled guilty to driving while impaired and was sentenced to 30 days.

“About four and a half months ago, I made the biggest mistake of my life. I let alcohol get the better of me in a decision that I will never live down, a decision that has come at a great cost to me and my family,” Hope said on the Hope Solo Speaks podcast.

“I realized now that my soul was slowly starved. And it was all my fault for trying to be strong for my family, for being prideful. In my strength, I was weak,” she shared.

In April 2022, Hope respectfully requested a postponement of my Hall of Fame induction ceremony to 2023.
