Milly Alcock Reveals How Her Life Was Completely Different Before Landing Young Rhaenyra Role on 'House of the Dragon'

Milly Alcock is a rising star who is breaking onto the scene with her role as Young Rhaenyra Targaryan on the HBO series House of the Dragon.

The 22-year-old actress recently opened up about how her life was so different before landing the exciting new part.

Before being cast in House of the Dragon, Milly had appeared in various Australian television shows, but she was working her daytime job at the time.

Milly said in a new interview that she was washing dishes in a restaurant to make money before getting the job.

“I never thought this would happen to m,” Milly told Stellar. “I was washing dishes in a restaurant, living in my mum’s attic. This doesn’t happen to people like me, so it was incredibly quick.”

Milly was cooking dinner at a friend’s house when her agent called her with the news. She said, “I froze, and took a deep breath and said to my friend, ‘Do you have wine?’ Then I called my mum.”

Milly dropped out of school to pursue her acting dreams.

“I was like, I either have to sit all of my exams in rural Australia or I was just going to drop out of school,” she said. “So I dropped out because it was never really my thing.”
