NBC Might Stop Airing Original Shows During 10pm Hour

NBC might be introducing a big change to its programming in the near future.

There are rumors that the network is considering cutting the 10pm hour of primetime programming and giving the hour to local stations, according to Variety.

ABC, NBC, and CBS all air three hours of primetime programming every night while Fox and The CW only air two hours.

In the 10pm hour on NBC, the network airs New Amsterdam, Chicago PD, Law & Order: Organized Crime, and the new Quantum Leap reboot.

“While NBC is the number one network, we are always looking at strategies to ensure that our broadcast business remains as strong as possible,” an NBC spokesperson told Variety. “As a company, our advantage lies in our ability to provide audiences with the content they love across broadcast, cable and streaming.”

The outlet reports that there would be no change in the scheduling of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and Late Night with Seth Meyers, which air at 11:35 p.m. and 12:35 p.m., respectively.
