Cherry Valentine, a beloved member of the RuPaul’s Drag Race family, has sadly died.

The RuPaul’s Drag Race UK Season 2 star and drag artist, birth name George Ward, passed away at the age of 28, his family announced via the BBC on Friday (September 23).

“It is with the most heart-wrenching and deepest sadness to inform you that our George – Cherry Valentine – has tragically passed away,” the family said in a statement, confirming that the death occurred on Sunday (September 18).
