Is Zac Efron Returning for 'High School Musical' Series? Here's What He's Said!

In a recent interview, the series’ creator Tim Federle revealed that neither Zac nor Vanessa Hudgens, who played high-school sweethearts Troy and Gabriella, are confirmed to return – but they’re trying.

“We’d love to get Zac and Vanessa and all of them back, so we’re actively working on that right now,” he told TVLine.

And while Zac Efron did sound more critical of the role years ago, he seemingly has since changed his tune.

When asked if he’d ever be interested in a reboot by E! News, Zac said: “Of course. Seriously, having the opportunity in any form to go back and work with that team would be so amazing. My heart’s still there..,that would be incredible. I hope it happens.”

We’ll have to see if Zac Efron pops up as a surprise in an upcoming season!
