Hugh Jackman Is Returning to Play Wolverine in 'Deadpool 3' - Watch the Announcement!

“I’ve had to really search my soul on this one. His first appearance in the MCU obviously needs to feel special,” Ryan continued.

“We need to stay true to the character, find new depth, motivation, meaning every Deadpool needs to stand out and stand apart. It’s been an incredible challenge that has forced me to reach down deep inside.”

Hugh played Wolverine in 2000′s X-Men, and later in 2003′s X2, as well as X-Men: The Last Stand in 2006. He would again play the role in 2009 in X-Men: Origins: Wolverine and X-Men: First Class. Later, he would play the role in The Wolverine in 2013 and X-Men: Days of Future Past in 2014, and again in 2016′s X-Men: Apocalypse and Logan in 2017.

Deadpool 3 hits theaters on September 6, 2024.
