TikToker Mikayla Nogueira Speaks Out Following Backlash To Her Past Comments About Influencers Working Long Hours

Mikayla Nogueira has broken her silence after an old, resurfaced video of hers was taken out of context on TikTok.

The beauty influencer, who has amassed over 13.5 million followers on the platform, is addressing video and the controversy surrounding it.

In the old clip, which was filmed over two years ago, Mikayla revealed that she had been awake since 6 a.m. filming and editing videos for her page, as she was finally eating dinner.

“I literally just finished working at 5:19,” she said in the video. “Try being an influencer for a day…It is not for everybody. In fact, it’s for a very small handful of people who can actually do this job because it’s absolutely f***ing insane. You do not want to have this job.”

Now, in her first video back since the old video resurfaced and spread, Mikayla is addressing it all.

She explained that in the old clip her “emotions were running high”.

“Unfortunately, I was having a s*** day and I made a video that I absolutely should not make,” she added. “I regret making it.”

Mikayla also believes her words were “taken out of context” when the video resurfaced, she admitted that she acted like an “absolute f***-up” by complaining about her influencer career.

“This job comes with an extreme amount of f–king privilege and blessings,” she said. “It’s a f***ing sick ass job” before noting that her career is not harder than that of a neurosurgeon or teacher: “Anyone who watched me every day knows that I f–king love my job.”

While she returned to explain the video, Mikayla is also now taking a break from social media to focus on healing her “deteriorated” mental health.

“I will absolutely be back,” she promised. “I don’t want to lose myself completely, you know? So, I’m going to go away for a while. I’m gonna get treatment. I’m gonna get help because my depression is just not good.”
