Anthony Rapp Recounts His Sexual Assault From Kevin Spacey During Trial

At the time of his assault, Anthony was starring in Precious Sons on Broadway, and just after it closed, Kevin, who was starring in a revival of A Long Day’s Journey Into Night, invited him to a party at his loft.

He said that he was what appeared to be a bedroom when he realized that all of the other guests had left. There, he alleges, Kevin blocked the door and then lifted him up like a groom carrying his bride over the threshold, before depositing him on the bed.

“It was very sudden,” Anthony described. “I was confused. He pulled his full weight onto my chest. My arms were pinned. I didn’t ask for him to do that. I felt like a deer in the headlights. I didn’t feel like I could do anything in that moment.”

Anthony said he eventually escaped to the bathroom where, “I tried to make sense of what happened” and to “gain back some level of control.

He called the experience “incredibly upsetting” and “frightening.”

Kevin‘s lawyers have tried to cast doubt on Anthony‘s claims, by bringing up the floorplan of the loft at the time. In the drawing, there was no bedroom, and is specifically a studio.
