Queen Latifah's 'No Deaths' Clause Explained - Here's Why It's In Her Contracts
Queen opened up about her “no deaths” clause during an appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show, according to the New York Post.
“You know, what happened at the beginning of my career… my characters died in the movies and apparently I died my a-s off,” she told host Drew Barrymore. “I was like, ‘Wait a minute, if I keep dying in these movies, I can’t do a sequel.’”
After making that realization, she said that she had her team make it clear she wanted her characters to live.
“Henceforth, we kind of threw it in there,” she explained. “I was like, ‘No more dying. No more getting shot up by 300 bullets in this car.’”
