Drew Barrymore Reveals She Thought E.T. Was Real During Cast Reunion

Drew Barrymore opened up about her experience on the set of E.T. during a reunion with her castmates.

The classic film celebrated its 40th anniversary this year, and Drew is marking the occasion by hosting her former castmates on the Halloween episode of her talk show The Drew Barrymore Show.

In a teaser from the episode, she dropped a bombshell – that she thought E.T. was real while on set.

“Now I believed E.T. was real,” Drew admitted. “I really loved him in such a profound way.”

She added that she used to eat lunch with the character. Henry Thomas recollected that Drew wrapped a scarf around E.T. so that he’d stay warm on set, too. Dee Wallace chimed in with an even sweeter story.

“We found you over there just talking away to E.T. and so we let Steven [Spielberg] know and so Steven from that time on appointed two guys to keep E.T. alive so whenever you came over to talk to him he could react to you,” she revealed.
