Kanye West Likens Losing Deal With Adidas & Public Fall From Grace to George Floyd's Death

Kanye West compared his public fall from grace following anti-Semitic and hateful comments to George Floyd‘s tragic death.

The 45-year-old hitmaker’s net worth took a massive hit and he lost several brand partnerships including a major deal with Adidas after weeks of refusing to back down from his public statements that were shared on social media and in various interviews.

He also faces a lawsuit from George‘s daughter after saying that he died as a result of fentanyl use.

Kanye addressed his various controversies while out and likened his situation to George‘s.

The hitmaker stopped for what appeared to be an impromptu Q&A. During it, he seemingly touched on his decision to wear a “White Lives Matter” shirt.

“When the idea of Black Lives Matter came out, it made us come together as a people,” he explained, according to Complex. “So when said that and I questioned the death of George Floyd, it hurt my people. It hurt the Black people.”

“So, I want to apologize [inaudible] because God has shown me by what Adidas is doing and by what the media is doing, I know how it feels to have a knee on my neck now,” he said. “So thank you God for humbling me and letting me know how it really felt. Because how could the richest Black man ever be humbled other than to be made to not be a billionaire in front of everyone off one comment.”

Kanye added that he felt “teamed up on” and like Adidas thought “they had the right to take my designs.”

“What’s happening right now is I’m being humbled. Another thing that’s happening to me is by being burned to the flesh every single day, it’s actually proving what I had to say,” he said.
