Hilary Duff Denounces Upcoming Aaron Carter Memoir, Which Includes an Allegation About Their Relationship

Hilary Duff slammed the decision to release an unfinished memoir that Aaron Carter was writing at the time of his death.

The memoir, titled “Aaron Carter: An Incomplete Story of an Incomplete Life,” was co-written with Andy Symonds and will be released on November 15.

According to the New York Post, the late star addressed his relationship with Hilary within the pages. He notably claimed that they lost their virginities together at the age of 13.

Hilary, who paid tribute to her former boyfriend and co-star last week, denounced the release and referred to it as “heartless” and a “money grab.”

“It’s really sad that within a week of Aaron’s death, there’s a publisher that seems to be recklessly pushing a book out to capitalize on this tragedy without taking appropriate time or care to fact check the validity of his work,” Hilary told the Daily Mail.

“To water down Aaron’s life story to what seems to be unverified click-bait for profit is disgusting,” she added. “In no way do I condone shedding any light on what is so obviously an uninformed, heartless, money grab.”

A representative for Hilary declined to address the allegation about her relationship to the New York Post. Reps for Aaron had not returned requests for comment from either publication.

Hilary‘s response comes shortly after she returned to social media following a period where her family battled various illnesses.
