Dave Chappelle Addresses Kanye West's Anti-Semitic Remarks in 'Saturday Night Live' Monologue - Watch Now

Dave Chappelle is making his return to Saturday Night Live.

The 49-year-old comedian hosted the NBC sketch comedy show for the third time on Saturday (November 12).

During his opening monologue, Dave addressed Kanye West‘s anti-Semitic remarks, and shared a very important message.

Right at the beginning of his monologue, Dave took out a statement that read, “I denounce antisemitism in all its forms. I stand with my friends in the Jewish community. And that Kanye is how you buy yourself some time.”

Later on in his monologue, Dave brought up Kanye‘s appearance on the Drink Champs podcast last month, where the rapper declared, “I can say anti-Semitic things and Adidas won’t drop me.”

“They dropped him immediately,” Dave said. “Ironically Adidas was founded by Nazis and even they were offended. I guess the students have surpassed the teachers.”

Dave also argued that people with mental illness have committed murder so he doesn’t believe that mental illness is an excuse for antisemitism.

“I don’t think Kanye is crazy at all,” Dave said. “I think he’s possibly not well.”

Dave added that the “crazy” part about Kanye is that he said the anti-Semitic things “out loud.”
