Royal Expert Claims Prince Philip Wanted to Sue Netflix Over Scene In 'The Crown'

Prince Philip reportedly wanted to sue Netflix over a fictional scene about his life in an early season of The Crown.

Hugo Vickers, a royal historian, alleged that the late royal was in touch with lawyers to see if there was any way that he could take action against the streaming platform over a false storyline.

The scene in question took place during the second season of the show back in 2017. It had to do with the death of Prince Philip‘s older sister Princess Cecilie, who died in a plane crash in 1937.

In the fictionalized retelling of her death, the princess was flying to London because her then-teenaged brother was in trouble.

“I know Prince Philip consulted his lawyer about it, to ask ‘What can I do about it,’” Hugo told The Sunday Times.

“He was very upset about the way that was portrayed. He was human. He could be hurt like anybody else.”

The Crown recently reacted to criticism from a very famous actress.
