Joseph Baena Doesn't Ask His Dad Arnold Schwarzenegger For His Advice Often

Joseph Baena says his focus is on figuring out things on his own rather than relying on his dad Arnold Schwarzenegger for advice.

“The main thing is just the work, putting in the work, putting in the reps,” the 25-year-old actor said “That’s the No. 1 thing that we always discuss. And for me, it’s just been me figuring it out myself.”

Joseph said he will turn to his dad “every once in a while,” but said that “90 percent of the time, I want to figure it out on my own.”

“I want to work hard and put in the reps and work on my craft my own. There’s no shortcuts in this. There’s no shortcuts in acting, and in really anything,” Joseph told People. “And so, that’s what I want to get out of it is I want it to be my hard work and my ambition that gets me to that success.”

“So it’s very minimal that I go to him and ask for advice because I want to figure it out on my own,” Joseph said.

Last month, Joseph and his partner Daniella Karagach were eliminated from Dancing with the Stars after dancing a Cha-cha-cha to “Shut Up and Dance” by Walk the Moon.
