Ellen Pompeo Speaks Out Before Her Final 'Grey's Anatomy' Appearance as Series Regular

Ellen Pompeo‘s time on Grey’s Anatomy is coming to an end very soon, and she’s speaking out for the first time after news broke of the date of her final appearance as a series regular.

Ellen‘s character Meredith Grey is going to be moving to Boston, where she will have a new job working on Alzheimer’s research and her daughter will be attending a new school. A recent promo revealed that the next episode, which airs on February 23, will feature Meredith Grey’s farewell.

Now, Ellen is speaking out about her goodbye.

“I am eternally grateful and humbled by the love and support you have all shown me, Meredith GREY and the show for 19 seasons! Through it all….none of it …would have been possible without the best fans in the world. You all are RIDERS and you all have made the ride so fun and ICONIC!!” she wrote on her Instagram.

“I love you madly and appreciate you right back. This isn’t your first time on the rollercoaster… you know the show must go on and I’ll definitely be back to visit. With a lot of love and immense gratitude XoE 🙏🏼❤️”

One of the show’s stars also issued a warning before the last episode.
