Brandy To Return as Cinderella in Disney+'s 'The Pocketwatch'!

Disney just dropped major news – Brandy will be back as Cinderella in the upcoming Disney+ film The Pocketwatch!

The 43-year-old actress was the first Black actress to play the iconic character in 1997′s Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella, and now, she’s slipping her crystal slippers back on for the upcoming Descendants spinoff movie.

Variety revealed more details of the movie, which stars China Anne McClain, Dara Renee and Kylie Cantrall.

The Pocketwatch will center on Red (Cantrall), the rebellious teenage daughter of the Queen of Hearts and Chloe (Mia Baker), the cheerful but naïve daughter of Cinderella and Prince Charming.

They cross paths at a momentous celebration in the kingdom of Auradon when unexpected chaos breaks out and in order to prevent an impending coup, they must join forces to travel back in time, via a magical pocket watch created by the Mad Hatter’s son, to stop an event that would lead to grave consequences.

No word on whether Paolo Montalban will reprise his role as Prince Charming just yet.

But, in addition to Brandy, Rita Ora will play the Queen of Hearts, and is described as withholding and tyrannical, ruling over the kingdom of Wonderland with an iron fist.
