Get to Know Jake Lockett, Sam Carver on 'Chicago Fire,' with These 10 Facts (Exclusive)

Jake Lockett is the hot new star of Chicago Fire this season and we caught up with him to learn some things that fans might not already know!

During the season 11 premiere, Jake made his debut as firefighter Sam Carver, a mysterious new character who joined Firehouse 51.

You might already recognize Jake from appearances on Fox’s The Big Leap and Hulu’s Maggie. He’s having a breakout moment with his Chicago Fire role and it’s time to introduce him to our readers!

  1. I have a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering from Texas A&M.
  2. I worked for Boeing in Seattle as a Stress Liaison Engineer and supported production of the 747, 767, 777 and 787 by doing stress analysis on production issues.
  3. I’m a martial artist, practicing Sayoc Kali, the art of the blade, for seven years and in the instructor program.
  4. My first play was the “The Importance of Being Ernest” where I played The Reverend Canon Chasuble.
  5. I’m a self proclaimed golf addict. At a young age, my grandfather got me addicted by going out into their cattle pasture and hitting balls out into the pasture and then back again. We would spend hours together doing this.

  1. I was the lead singer in an LA rock band called EASYTIGER and I also wrote the lyrics for the band.
  2. I speak conversational German and Spanish… though I’m self admittedly not fluent. :)
  3. I’m a certified personal trainer, focused on functional strength and healthy relationships with food
  4. I have my pilot’s license, but unfortunately I’m not current with my ratings, so don’t ask me to fly you anywhere without some warm-up.
  5. I’ve held lots of jobs. I learned to weld from my grandfather, Jack Miller, and started working at a young age in a variety of jobs… my own mowing service that my dad helped me with; chopping cotton; working cattle and driving tractors for local farmers with my cousin Clay; working in an automotive shop; and doing construction work by building metal buildings.
