Taylor Swift's Tour Promoter Responds to Claims They Chose to Use Ticketmaster

The promoter for Taylor Swift‘s upcoming The Eras Tour is responding to claims that they chose to sell tickets on Ticketmaster.

The statement comes one week after the Verified Fan pre-sale for Taylor‘s tour became a chaotic experience for many fans, with lots of people spending hours upon hours trying to buy tickets with many failing to get any.

The Department of Justice has even launched an investigation into Ticketmaster’s parent company Live Nation Entertainment to determine if they have abused their power in the live music industry.

AEG Presents, the promotion company working with Taylor, has released a statement in response to claims that they chose to use Ticketmaster to sell tickets.

“Ticketmaster’s exclusive deals with the vast majority of venues on the ‘Eras’ tour required us to ticket through their system,” AEG said in a statement to CNBC. “We didn’t have a choice.”
