Paul Greene Reveals If He'll Ever Return To 'When Calls The Heart'

Paul Greene is about to take over the holiday season with two brand new movies on Great American Family and CBS in the forthcoming weeks.

While promoting both of his projects, the 48-year-old actor opened up about a potential return to Hallmark‘s When Calls The Heart.

If you recall, Paul portrayed Dr. Carson Shepherd, who left at the end of season 8 for a fellowship. This left Faith, played by Andrea Brooks, as the Hope Valley’s new doctor.

Talking to TV Insider, Paul was vague on returning to the series. But, he’s not saying never.

“There have been talks about some different approaches to completing that storyline or expanding that,” he explained, noting that it “falls into the hands of the gods.”

Paul doesn’t have regrets about leaving the series when he did though.

“There are so many cool projects I’m involved in. When you’re on a series, you might be able to sneak in one or two things. I loved being on it, but there are so many other projects I wanted to do. I helped produce a pilot. I’ve been involved in a [Jaguar My Love] film for two years that I’m proud of,” he shared. “If I was on a series, that all wouldn’t happen.”

Paul also added that since he wasn’t filming season 9, he was able to be with partner Kate Austin throughout her pregnancy and at the birth of their son, Austin.

“I would never give up any of that for extra seasons. I have my gift…I make music, I have a podcast. I’m writing a parenting book. I try to be as present for all the little things,” he says. “There is the whole fitness side. My wife and I coach people through a transformation process and a program called Freedom Alchemist. I have to tell myself enough to slow down and think about what my main priority is and go from there.”
