Rita Ora Denies She's Beyonce's 'Becky With the Good Hair' Following Rumors from 2016

Rita Ora is speaking out in response to the rumors from 2016 that she was “Becky with the good hair,” as mentioned in Beyonce‘s song “Sorry.”

The song was featured on Bey‘s album Lemonade and there were rumors that she was referring to Rita thanks to a photo that the “Black Widow” singer posted on Snapchat back then.

Rita shared a photo of herself wearing a necklace with an “R” initial and in the same pic she was wearing a lemon-applique bra. Fans thought the necklace had a “J” initial though.

In a new interview, Rita explained what happened.

“Oh my god, it literally was a coincidence,” Rita said on the BBC podcast, Louis Theroux Interviews. “I didn’t even think about it, I swear. And it wasn’t a J, it was an R. They flipped it ’round and then it looked like a J.”

Rita was asked if the lemon bra had anything to do with Lemonade. She responded, “No, it had nothing [to do with it]. No, that was my own design with an underwear company called Tezenis that I was working with.

“This is what I mean, man. A pinch of salt,” she added. “You’ve got to take things with a pinch of salt. And that’s what’s insane. I had to just sit through that until a good friend of mine, Katy Perry, gave me a hilarious badge that said ‘not Becky’.”

Another public figure was believed to be Becky and she also responded to the rumors.
