Todd & Julie Chrisley Break Their Silence After Being Sentenced to Prison

Todd and Julie Chrisley are speaking out for the first time.

The couple broke their silence after being sentenced to multiple years in federal prison, as well as months of probation, following their bank fraud conviction.

If you didn’t know, back in June, the two were found guilty of tax evasion and bank fraud after being accused of creating false documents to secure $30 million in bank loans in order to foot the bill for their expensive lifestyles.

They filed for bankruptcy to avoid paying the more than $20 million they owed. Prosecutors said the couple intentionally “swindled” smaller banks to rack up the $30 million bill between 2007 and 2012, a couple of years before their reality show’s debut.

“Age is just a number, and since we don’t know our death date, we have to live every day as if it’s our last,” Julie said during the latest episode of the “Chrisley Confessions” podcast, reading a quote by author Priscilla Shirer.

“Yesterday doesn’t matter. Today is what we have. Tomorrow belongs to God, because we’re not promised tomorrow. What God calls us through, he will walk us through,” Todd added.

“God will call you to do something, and he’ll equip you to do it. He’ll give you what you need to do it,” Julie said during the episode.

“The difficulties I’m going through, how I handle it — [my kids are] watching that as well. If I handle it right, they’re watching, if I screw it up, they’re watching, and so, for me as a parent, I want to try to make sure that I do it right more than I do it wrong, because I know they’re watching, and I know it will prepare them for difficulties, unfortunately, that they will have later in life.”

Todd was sentenced to 12 years in prison, according to reports. His wife was sentenced to seven years. The couple will also have to serve 16 months of probation.

Savannah Chrisley has been granted custody of her younger brother and her niece following her parents’ conviction.
