Ted Cruz's 14-Year-Old Daughter Hospitalized Due to Self-Inflicted Stab Wounds (Report)

Senator Ted Cruz‘s daughter is in the hospital.

The 51-year-old Texas senator’s 14-year-old daughter was rushed to the hospital, reportedly due to self-inflicted stab wounds, on Tuesday night (December 6) in Houston, Texas.

Police were called to his home in in Houston’s River Oaks neighborhood in Texas for a medical emergency around 8 p.m. They received a report of a 14-year-old with self-inflicted stab wounds to their arm. Ted Cruz lives at his home with wife Heidi and their two daughters, ages 11 and 14.

One person was rushed to the hospital for treatment, which Ted Cruz verified was his daughter.

The Senator has spoken out and says his daughter is “okay” in a statement via rep to ABC News, via TMZ.

“This is a family matter and thankfully their daughter is okay,” the rep said, adding “There were no serious injuries. The family requests the media respect their daughter’s privacy at this time.”

There are no details yet if the Senator was at home at the time, or who made the 911 call.
