Backstreet Boys Were Not Shown on Z100’s Socials for Jingle Ball Amid Nick Carter Controversy

The Backstreet Boys performed at iHeartRadio Z100”²s Jingle Ball 2022 last week, but if you were following along on socials, you might not have known.

Variety is reporting that the boy band got “left out in the cold” amid the controversy surrounding member Nick Carter, who was recently accused of bringing an underage fan onto his tour bus, giving her alcohol and then sexually assaulting her after a concert in 2001.

Nick has since denied the allegations, but it has already led to ABC canceling a planned holiday special and the band’s presence at Jingle Ball was diminished.

Z100’s social media account also did not share clips of the performance, despite posting small snippets of nearly every other act on stage, according to the Variety. The only clip that the radio station shared was of a backstage interview with the band.

The band performed hits like “Everybody,” “I Want it That Way” and “Larger Than Life” during the concert, which will air on The CW Network on December 17. It’s unclear if their performance will be part of the special.
