The producer sat down for an interview, and he was asked about rumors and speculation that Johnny Depp may be asked to eventually return to the Pirates of the Caribbean movie franchise.

Jerry worked on all five Pirates movies with Johnny, including 2013′s The Lone Ranger.

“We’re still working on it,” he told The Associated Press.

“Nothing’s definitive yet, but we continue to take little baby steps getting towards a screenplay.”

According to a leaked casting list, Johnny Depp was the second choice to play another big role in a classic.
