Aaron Carter’s Fiancee Melanie Martin Regains Custody of Couple’s Son Prince

A judge ruled on who would maintain custody of Aaron Carter‘s son Prince.

The late star and his fiancee Melanie Martin lost custody of their 1-year-old son in September 2022. Melanie‘s mother was taking care of the child at that time.

However, Melanie was reportedly granted custody again on Thursday (December 15) by a Los Angeles court.

Her rep shared the news with TMZ, noting that Melanie was deemed fit to parent her child.

Aaron previously shared that he was attending rehab in an attempt to regain custody of Prince.

Melanie opened up about the news in a statement shared with TMZ: “I’m honoring Aaron today and I know he would be so proud of me. I’m very emotional thinking we could have been a family, but Aaron would be so happy knowing I got him back.”

The outlet noted that Aaron‘s mom Jane Carter was happy with the news, telling them that “The child should be with the mother.”

Aaron and Melanie welcomed Prince in November 2021.

There have also been questions about Aaron‘s estate after it was revealed that he didn’t have a will prepared at the time of his death.
