Cecily Strong Bids 'Saturday Night Live' Farewell With Weekend Update Skit During Final Episode

Cecily Strong is saying goodbye to Saturday Night Live.

Mere hours before the December 17 show, it was revealed that the 38-year-old comedian would be making her final appearance on the late-night show.

She used an appearance on Weekend Update in character as Cathy Anne to reflect on some of her best moments on the show, and the video will leave you feeling emtotional!

Cecily hopped onstage with Michael Che and Colin Jost wearing a pink jacket and a Santa hat.

“I’m a little emo tonight because, truth is, I’m here to say goodbye,” she said, joking that her character Cathy Anne was heading to prison for a variety of reasons (she mentioned crack twice).

However, things got a bit more emotional as the skit came to a close, and Cecily broke character.

“It’s just my time now,” she said. “But I had a lot of fun here, and I feel really lucky that I got to have so many of the best moments of my life in this place with these people that I love so much.”

Ever the showperson, she went right back into the skit and left belting out a song!

Cecily will be missed, though the skit makes it very clear that this is just “goodbye for now.”

Last week a couple of returning SNL stars opened up about the new cast that joined the series this season.
