Broadway's 'The Collaboration' Cancels Opening Night Performance, Star Paul Bettany's Wife Jennifer Connelly Had Already Walked the Carpet!

Jennifer Connelly walked the red carpet for the opening night performance of the Broadway play The Collaboration, but unfortunately she didn’t get to watch a performance.

The opening night show was canceled on Tuesday night (December 20), minutes before curtain time due to a positive COVID case in the company.

“Due to a positive COVID case in the company, the producers of THE COLLABORATION have canceled tonight’s performance on Broadway. Performances will resume on a date to be announced,” a rep for the production told BroadwayWorld.com.

Jennifer attended the opening event to support her husband Paul Bettany, who is starring in the play as Andy Warhol.

Here’s the synopsis: “In the summer of 1984, longtime international superstar Andy Warhol (Bettany) and the art scene’s newest wunderkind, Jean-Michel Basquiat (Jeremy Pope), agree to work together on what may be the most talked about exhibition in the history of modern art. But can these two creative giants co-exist, or even thrive?”

The play, written by four-time Oscar-nominated writer Anthony McCarten, has already been turned into a movie that was filmed a few months ago with the same actors!
