Former Super Bowl Winner Ronnie Hillman, 31, Is On Hospice Battling Rare Cancer

Ronnie Hillman, a Super Bowl winning running back, is tragically on hospice care after battling a cancer called renal medullary carcinoma, a “rare but highly aggressive neoplasm form of cancer that primarily affects young African Americans with sickle cell trait,” TMZ reports.
The 31-year-old former NFL player won a Super Bowl in 2015 with the Denver Broncos and played alongside Peyton Manning that year. He rushed 863 yards and seven touchdowns during their Super Bowl-winning season.

His family released a statement, confirming, “As a family, we hope beyond hope, and we have faith that can move mountains. We also understand that God’s will is not always ours; therefore, we as a family subject ourselves to the will of our Almighty God. We need your prayers, but we also need your understanding and respect for Ronnie and our family’s privacy at this time.”
His former teammate Derek Wolfe added, “It’s not looking good. He has pneumonia and I’m putting it out there just to send positive vibes his way.”
Our thoughts are with Ronnie and his family during this time.
