John Stamos Shocked Dax Shepard on His Podcast With a Revelation About Kristen Bell

John Stamos went on Dax Shepard‘s Armchair Expert podcast this week and shocked the host by revealing something about his wife Kristen Bell.

The 59-year-old former Full House actor opened up about his relationship timeline, including his divorce from first wife Rebecca Romijn and current marriage with Caitlin McHugh.

John also talked about the actress he was almost set up with after his divorce.

“I was freshly divorced. There was some award show or party or after party or something,” John said (via Huffington Post). “And my press agent … says: ‘There’s this girl that wants to meet you. You gotta meet her. She’s in the theater. She’s fun, you guys would be great together.’ It was Kristen.”

Dax and his co-host Monica Padman both gasped when John revealed the news.

John said that he felt “too old” for Kristen at the time as there is a 17-year age gap.

“I just was so lofty, and I thought, ‘I’m old.’ But then I got over that,” he said. There is a 23-year age gap between John and his current wife, so he clearly did get over it!

John talked about meeting Caitlin for the first time. He said, “I said, ‘I’m gonna put 100% into this.’ If it doesn’t work, fine, but at least I know that road. Being in the moment is exhausting, but it’s so great.”
