Andy Cohen & Anderson Cooper Are Still Taking Shots During CNN’s New Year’s Eve Live 2023 – They Just Aren’t Alcoholic

Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen‘s rowdy CNN New Year’s Eve Live celebration is a little less rowdy as they prepare to welcome 2023.

That’s because the co-hosts aren’t drinking alcohol. After the hosts had a bit of an on-air mishap last year, the network is reportedly tightening the rules.

Andy clarified that “correspondents will not be drinking” at this year’s celebration but noted that they would be “partying responsibly.”

If you’ve only casually tuned into the show, you might have noticed that Andy and Anderson are still sometimes tossing back shots. What gives?

“We can’t drink,” Andy acknowledged during the special, later joking that he might have a “pocket of edibles” to party with.

What’s in the shots they are taking then? Anderson and Andy are throwing back nonalcoholic mystery shots. Their first was pickle juice, and they’ve taken a new one every hour. Sounds risky!

CNN’s special is just one of many airing this year. Check out what else is going on here. You can also find a livestream to watch the ball drop in Times Square here.
