Vin Diesel Isn't In 'Avatar 2', Producer Jon Landau Confirms

For quite a while, there were rumors that Vin Diesel would be appearing in Avatar: The Way of Water, and possibly more sequels.

However, fans have found out that the 55-year-old actor is actually not in the movie at all, and producer Jon Landau is explaining just how the rumors got started.

While speaking to Empire about the rumors, Jon debunked them all.

“Vin was a fan. He came in, visited the set one day to see what we were doing and people took that out of context,” Jon explained of how the rumors first started out.

Back in 2019, Vin did stop by the set as he was filming another movie around the area at the time.

In the video, Vin appears beside director James Cameron as he checked out the set.

“Here we are on the set of Avatar; 2, 3, 4 and 5. This is top secret, this is like the Manhattan Project, with my old buddy Vin,” James said in the clip. “We’re actually gonna give him the flashy thing from Men In Black when he leaves here so he has no memory whatsoever of what he’s seen.”

Vin then laughed, joking to fans watching that “you never saw this. But I’ll tell you it’s long overdue, there is one person in Hollywood I’ve always wanted to work with and learn from.”

So how did the rumors get so wide-spread? Vin nor James never confirmed or denied that the Fast & Furious star wouldn’t be in the film.
