Britney Spears Sets the Record Straight After Reports She Got New Tattoo for Justin Timberlake

Britney Spears is clearing the air after two of her Instagram posts caused a stir.

The 41-year-old Glory pop star made a rare comment about Justin Timberlake, who she dated from 1999 until 2002, in a recent post.

“When we used to shoot hoops TOGETHER,” she wrote alongside a since-deleted pic of them playing basketball. “That’s when miracles happened.”

Somehow, reports began relating the post about Justin with a separate post about a new tattoo that Britney shared. She took to her Instagram story to make it very clear that they weren’t at all related.

“Just to clarify … my tattoo had nothing to do with an ex in the past,” she wrote. “I simply did it because I wanted to !!! The pic with my ex is a time where there was less confusion on what it meant to be together … it is what it is.”

Her clarification comes just a while after Britney seemingly renounced reports about her from a night out with her husband.
