Lizzo's 'About Damn Time' Wins Record of the Year at Grammys 2023, Dedicates Award to Prince

Lizzo is a winner!

The 34-year-old entertainer won the award for Record of the Year for her song “About Damn Time” at the 2023 Grammy Awards on Sunday (February 5) at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.

Completely shocked by the news, Lizzo took to the stage to accept the award and dedicated the win to the late Prince.

“When we lost Prince I decided to dedicate my life to making positive music,” Lizzo said. “I wanted to make the world a better place, so I had to be that change, to make the world a better place.”

Also in her acceptance speech, Lizzo gave a shout-out to Beyonce, revealing that “skipped school to see you perform” when she was a kid,

“Thank you so much,” Lizzo added. “You clearly are the artist of our lives!”
