Drake Ordered to Sit for Deposition Regarding XXXTentacion's Death, Threatened with Being Held in Contempt of Court

Drake has been ordered to sit for a deposition about the death of XXXTentacion.
The rapper was murdered in 2018 at the age of 20. His alleged murderers – Dedrick Williams, Michael Boatwright and Trayvon Newsome – are currently on trial.
Dedrick‘s defense attorney requested that Drake be questioned about the situation due to a previous, rumored feud with XXXTentacion.

Rolling Stone noted that Drake was supposed to be deposed in January but did not show up. Newly filed legal documents are demanding he attend a meeting on February 24.
If he refuses again, Drake will need to appear in court on February 27 so that “the court can determine why he should not be held in contempt.”
While he is not a suspect, XXXTentacion previously wrote that Drake would be responsible for his death in an Instagram story. The note, which mentioned the musician by his Instagram handle @champagnepapi, was deleted before it could expire.
XXXTentacion later implied that his account was hacked. However, there were also allegations at the time that Drake had been heavily inspired by his sound, feeding into rumors of a feud.
Drake does not appear to have responded publicly to the court order.
The artist made headlines earlier this month after making a request of Spotify.
