Susan, was born in 1933 and died in 2004, wrote essays about humans rights and brought to light social issues like the AIDS epidemic and criticism of the Vietnam War.

At the end of this month, Kristen will be heading to Germany where she will be the youngest star to chair the International Jury of the 2023 Berlinale Film Festival.

“We’re using Berlin as a moment to kick off the project and do documentary footage of Kristen as the head of the jury and talking to her about how she’s going to become Sontag,” Gabrielle Tana, a producer on Sontag, told Variety.

“It will be a drama, but with a documentary aspect to it,” Gabrielle added. “Kirsten has a wonderful approach to storytelling, and this is reflective of that, so she will use documentary in it.”

Back in November 2022, it was revealed that Kristen will be making her directorial debut. Find out more about the project here.
