John Leguizamo Reveals He Was Asked to Exit 'Spider-Man: Homecoming' for Michael Keaton

John Leguizamo might have faced off against Tom Holland in Spider-Man: Homecoming. However, he said that he was asked to exit the role of Vulture so that Michael Keaton could have it.

The 62-year-old Encanto actor opened up about what happened behind the scenes after he was offered the part during a recent interview.

“I was supposed to be the Vulture,” John told ComicBook.com.

As the story goes, he was offered the role after attempts to get Michael on the project had stalled. However, things changed quickly.

“We had negotiated and I was about to play him, and they said that Michael Keaton wanted it back and they asked me if I would give it up,” he recalled. “I said, ‘Well, okay I guess.’ They said, ‘No, we’ll work with you again, we’re gonna…’ That’s what happened there.”

Of course, Michael ended up facing off against Spider-Man as the winged villain. And John‘s future role didn’t end up panning out.

“They offered me something tiny,” he explained. “I went, ‘Nuh uh.’”
