Get to Know 'Sneakers' Singer-Songwriter Knox With These 10 Fun Facts! (Exclusive)

Knox is one of the new rising stars on the music scene, and we want Just Jared readers to get a chance to know him even better!

The 25-year-old musician is from Dayton, Ohio, and only recently discovered his knack for music after picking up a guitar during his freshman year of college. He decided to drop out, opting to pursue his music industry dreams full-time and moving to Nashville, Tenn.

After connecting with 300 Entertainment’s Spencer Jordan, he embarked on a career as a songwriter, writing regularly for artists like John Harvie, Lanie Gardner and Games We Play, among many others.

In July of last year, Knox signed a publishing deal with River House Artists/Sony, and began touring with The Band Camino and Boys Like Girls, as well as playing during the popular Emo Night in Nashville.

His recent smash “Sneakers,” the first single on his current project, has already accumulated over 30 million streams across platforms. Ahead of the release of his debut EP How to Lose a Girl in 7 Songs, he’s now releasing his latest track, “NYC.”

1. I’m the world’s biggest superhero nerd. In 2008 when Iron Man came out, I went to see it during the Thursday night premiere. For the next 12 years, my brother and I never missed a single Marvel Thursday night movie premiere. I cried when we had to miss the first one haha.

2. I’m a die hard Kentucky basketball fan- in 2016 I drove 16 hours one way to Texas to watch them lose in the national championship.

3. I have a massive LEGO collection. I have around 30 different sets.

4. I love High School Musical and Camp Rock. I honestly think they’re huge influences on my life haha. My favorite character is Troy Bolton.

5. Me and my two best friends in Nashville are the world’s best Mario Kart players. My go to character is yellow Shy Guy, I’m going to get him tattooed on me.

6. When I was 11 I had brain surgery for Chiari malformation type 1.

7. I won a high school basketball state championship in 2015 and I used to be able to dunk.

8. My favorite TV show ever is It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

9. I’m a huge hot sauce fan, my roommate and I just ordered all of the Hot Ones hot sauces.

10. I didn’t start anything musical until I was 18 years old.
