Liam Neeson Explains Why He Doesn't Like All of the 'Star Wars' Spinoffs

Liam Neeson is sharing his honest thoughts on the ever expanding Star Wars universe.

If you forgot, the 70-year-old actor starred as Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace. He reprised the role in Obi-Wan Kenobi and Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi.

While appearing on Watch What Happens Live on Thursday (February 16), Liam was asked if he would star in his own spinoff series, and he immediately shot down that idea saying that there are too many spinoffs already.

“There’s so many spinoffs of Star Wars,” Liam said. “It’s diluting it to me, and it’s taken away the mystery and the magic in a weird way.”

Liam also added that he enjoyed reuniting with Ewan McGregor for Disney+’s Obi Wan Kenobi series, but “that’s it” for him.

“It was nice to do it a little bit with Ewan after 25 years, 24 years,” Liam said. “I did a TV version and I appeared in the last episode. I had three lines to say, two lines, and that was cool. I loved doing that.”

Liam‘s comments come after Emilia Clarke and Daisy Ridley revealed if they would return to the Star Wars franchise.
