Minari's Steven Yeun Joins Marvel's 'Thunderbolts' & Fans Think They Figured Out Which Iconic Role He'll Play

Steven Yeun just landed a role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe!

The 39-year-old scene-stealer rose to prominence playing Glenn Rhee in the hit television series The Walking Dead. Since then, he’s starred in Minari, Nope, and so many other fan faves. Now, he’s joining the MCU for a role in the upcoming Thunderbolts.

While his role in the film is not clear at the moment, Deadline reports that it’s a role that is “significant to this film” and also a “major role going forward in future films of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.”

Fans on Reddit are already making guesses about who Steven might be playing. The top answer seems to be Sentry. According to Superhero Wikipedia, “Sentry is a superhero in the Marvel Universe and also carries within him the supervillain known as the Void.” The character reportedly has a ton of powers including: Superhuman strength, speed, stamina, agility, reflexes, senses, durability and invulnerability, energy projection and manipulation, matter manipulation, flight, telepathy, resurrection, healing factor, and mental projection. This is obviously just a guess, and we’ll have to wait and see to find out more!

Thunderbolts is also set to star Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, Sebastian Stan as Winter Soldier, David Harbour as Red Guardian, Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, Wyatt Russell as US Agent, Hannah John-Kamen as Ghost and Olga Kurylenko as Taskmaster. Thunderbolts is currently set for release on July 26, 2024.
