Matthew McConaughey & Camila Alves Aboard Lufthansa Flight That Dropped 4,000 Feet Due to Severe Turbulence

Camila Alves is detailing a very scary flight experience.

The 41-year-old Brazilian model and husband Matthew McConaughey were aboard the Lufthansa flight on Wednesday (March 1) that was forced to land in Virginia after it was hit by severe turbulence over Tennessee and dropped nearly “4,000 feet” in the air.

“On Flight last night, I was told plane dropped almost 4000 feet, 7 people went to the hospital, Everything was flying everywhere,” Camila wrote on Instagram along with a video of the aftermath with food and items thrown all over the plane.

“To respect the privacy of those around me that’s all I am showing but the plane was a CHAOS And the turbulence keep on coming,” Camila continued. “The @lufthansa flight you are seeing on the news today!!!! Yes…that one. Thank God everyone was safe and ok.”

The flight was traveling from Austin, Texas to Frankfurt, Germany before it was hit with turbulence over Tennessee and forced to divert to Washington Dulles International Airport in Virginia where it landed safely.

Camila went on to thank everyone at the German airline for the arrangements they made after the scary incident.

“I must say everyone @marriottbonvoy by the airport of Washington where we had to divert to and spend the night was so kind!” Camila wrote. “[Matthew] and I made it to the bar with 1 minute before closing…slept well, getting on new flight today, To the journey I continue… Karin Lacy was a savior with me until 1am working on new flights!!!”

The following day before getting on their rescheduled flight, Camila revealed that she and Matthew, 53, were once again facing some more difficulties.

“Just my luck. After last night, I just got on the rescheduled flight, and the pilot’s saying we have a 45-minute turbulence getting out of Washington [DC],” Camila shared in a video posted to her Instagram Story. “Just my luck. Wish me luck.”

We’re glad to hear Matthew and Camila are OK after the scary incident.
