Paris Hilton Breaks Her Silence on Her Leaked Sex Tape, Talks Filming It & Her Reaction to Its Release

Paris Hilton is opening up about her leaked sex tape in an except from her forthcoming memoir Paris: The Memoir.

The 42-year-old star filmed herself in an intimate moment with then-boyfriend Rick Salomon in 2000. She was 19 at the time. The tape later wound up online without Paris‘ permission.

She candidly discussed feeling “weird and uncomfortable” filming the tape with Rick (who she referred to by his nickname “Scum”), the leak and the aftermath of it in the newly released clip.

“I don’t remember that much about the night he wanted to make a videotape while we made love,” Paris wrote in the memoir, according to USA Today.

“He told me if I wouldn’t do it, he could easily find someone who would, and that was the worst thing I could think of – to be dumped by this grown man because I was a stupid kid who didn’t know how to play grown-up games,” she recalled, adding that she wanted “to feel like a woman who’s comfortable in her own skin.”

She noted that she had alcohol and Quaaludes in her system when they filmed the content and was told that “no one else would ever see it.”

Paris said that Rick later told her he “had every right to sell” the tape, noting that it “belonged to him” and “had a lot of financial value.”

Reiterating that she was not responsible for the release, Paris said she “would have owned it” if it was her decision.

“I would have stood tall in my Louboutins and said, ‘Yup, that was my choice,’” she continued. “I would have stood by it, capitalized on it, licensed the s-it out of every frame, and then boogied on over to the bank without apologizing to anyone.”

Instead, Paris remembered feeling like her career was over and shared how her family responded.

“My mom just crumpled into bed and stayed there. My dad, red-faced and furious, worked the phones, calling lawyers, calling spin doctors, trying to help me marshal any hope of damage control,” she wrote, also saying her brothers “were so weirded out they could hardly look at me.”

Paris: The Memoir is set to arrive on March 14. Learn more about the release here.
