Zach Shallcross 'Begged & Pleaded' with 'Bachelor' Producers to Make 1 Big Change & They Refused

The Bachelor star Zach Shallcross is revealing what he begged and pleaded for during his time as the star of the show, and was ultimately turned down by ABC.

We’re nearing the end of Zach‘s journey, but there were some bumps along the way as he contracted COVID-19, and then one of his contestants contracted it right after him. Zach still continued on his journey while recovering from the virus.

“I would’ve never known in a million years that I’m going to get this COVID curve ball of taking a whole week away from us to where you can’t just put everything on hold, as much as I wanted to,” Zach told ET. “I begged and pleaded, [and] they’re like, ‘No, we have to keep this going.’” Unfortunately, producers of the show would not let Zach pause his season while he recovered to help keep his relationships afloat.

He ended up sending home one of his contestants, Greer Blitzer, after she contracted COVID and missed some time with him. As a result, his relationship with some of the other women progressed further and she was eliminated.

“So when I finally come back and she gets COVID right when I get back, that time is taken away from her. And again, we can’t stop everything,” Zach continued. “And it’s like, ‘All right, these relationships are either really progressing with these days or they’re not.’ At that point, when she had come back with Hometowns right around the corner, I didn’t feel confident enough to go there and meet her family because there were other relationships that I was very sure I was going to meet the family.”

Greer faced a huge controversy a few weeks ago when the show aired and her past social media activity was discovered.
